Wayne Eugene Rosauer, 77, of Dysart, Iowa died at his home on July 21, 2026 of end stage kidney failure complicated by cancer and heart disease. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Wayne was born September 12, 1948 to Margaret (Farrell) and Eugene Rosauer of rural Dysart. Wayne graduated from Dysart-Geneseo High School and then went on to The University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls where he graduated in 1973 with a degree in Business Management.

Wayne was active in his youth with 4H and showed cattle at the Benton County and Iowa State fairs, winning several championships.

Wayne was united in marriage to Ann Phelps on September 22, 1973 at St. Peter Cathedral in Rockford, Illinois. They made their home in Cedar Rapids and Vinton, Iowa before moving to rural Dysart. They moved into Dysart in 2016. Wayne farmed with his father for several decades before taking over in 1997 and he retired from farming in 2014. Wayne served on the Dysart-Geneseo and Union Community school boards for 15 years. He served as a 4H leader in Benton County for 10 years, and also served on the Benton County Extension Board. Wayne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dysart where he was on parish council, served as the religious education coordinator, and confirmation teacher. He and Ann then joined Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City where he was a member until his death.

Wayne had a great sense of humor and loved playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Wayne is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Ann, his two sons Ryan (Shannon) of Junction City, Kansas, and Matt (Jill) of La Porte City; three daughters Renae (Steve) Masbruch, Kelsey (Jordan) Van Sickle of Cedar Rapids, and Mary (Dan) Ibeling of Denver. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren Abby, David, Ben, Luke, Jake, and Drew Rosauer, Kate and Cael Masbruch, Maddie Ibeling, Nora, Lyla, and Maura Van Sickle. He is survived by his brother-in-laws Owen (Jane) of Durand, Illinois, Michael (Teresa) of Wichita, Kansas, John (Gina), and Patrick (Kim) of Rockford, Illinois and sister-in-laws Jody (Greg) Yagle, Jane (George) Ratzlaff, Susan (Tim) Armellani, and Megan (Jarrett) Johnson of Rockford, Illinois. He is also survived by 36 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Margaret Rosauer, his mother and father in law Owen and Joan Phelps, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Jim Rose, and his granddaughter Grace Rosauer.
