Rachael Ann Tasseff of Traer, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the age of 51. Born on April 5, 1975, in Waterloo, Rachael was the beloved daughter of Wynnfield and Teresa (Howe) Catron. Her warm spirit and sincere kindness made her presence a true gift to those blessed to know her.

Growing up in Traer, Rachael thrived among friends and family, graduating from North Tama High School with the Class of 1994. Her heart for helping others led her to work as a CNA for a time at Sunrise Hill Care Center, where she touched lives with her gentle care and comforting smile.

Rachael’s spirit was colored by kindness, compassion, and an infectious friendliness. She loved people dearly and sought joy in the every day. Whether she was making a new friend, sharing a laugh, or lending a hand, Rachael made those around her feel seen and valued.

She expressed her curiosity and love for knowledge by often visiting the library—one of her favorite places to spend an afternoon. She delighted in the simple pleasures: time spent exploring the world through her computer, trying new foods, listening to music, dancing, visiting the casino with an open heart for fun, and attending flea markets alongside her beloved mother, Teresa.

Of all the roles in her life, motherhood brought her the greatest pride and happiness. Rachael cherished her children: Tristan Dvoark, currently serving in France with the Army; Liberty Weber, now living in Laredo, Texas, with Alexis Gomez; and Chandler Catron of Traer. Her joy became even greater with the arrival of her granddaughter, Anastasia, whose presence brought light into her later years.

Rachael’s circle of love included not only her children but also her parents, Wynnfield and Teresa Catron, her close friend JB Hardwick of Traer, and the many others whom she counted as family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley Wilfong, and Russell and Zola Catron.

Although Rachael’s earthly journey has ended, the warmth of her kindness, the depth of her love, and the happiness she brought to those around her will forever be cherished and remembered.
