Marcella Lorraine Caslavka was born March 26, 1935, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (Gray) Brehm. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1954. Marcella was proud to be an Urbana cheerleader, and that she could still do a cartwheel in her 50s. She was married to Robert Caslavka on April 3, 1955, in Urbana. Marcella was very proud of a clean house and her meticulous garden. She enjoyed raising poultry, crafting and was well known for her cream puffs. Marcella worked at local catering businesses, was a school cook and sorted corn for Funk’s and Pioneer many decades.
Marcella passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Sunrise Hill Care Center at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diana Caslavka; two grandchildren, Chelsea Hubbard and Tyler Hubbard; four brothers, Robert Brehm, Dick Brehm, Conrad Brehm and Jerry Brehm; two sisters, Virginia Bistline and Shirley Goodell. Marcella is survived by her husband Robert Caslavka of Clutier; daughter, Nancy (Doug) Hubbard of Clutier; granddaughter, Brooklyn Hubbard; two sisters, Patty (Russ) Abernathy of Waverly and Mary Richart of Center Point; sister-in-law, Carol Walton of Montour and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Clutier Community Church or St. Croix Hospice.
Burial will take place at the Oneida Cemetery in Clutier at a later date.
