Leslie Meggers

Leslie Gene Meggers passed away February 13th, 2024, in his home. He will be cremated and a service for the family will be held at Buckingham Cemetery on Saturday, February 17th at 11am. Leslie was born on December 1, 1937, to parents Franz and Elsie Meggers in Buckingham, Iowa. He attended school at Buckingham and Dinsdale, Iowa. He married Linda Meyer on Sept 14, 1963, at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. They made their family home on a farm in Tama County. Leslie farmed land in Tama and Black Hawk Counties until retirement and continued working as a truck driver. 

He will be remembered by four children, Michael, Tim, Joel, and Susan;  7 grandchildren, Angel, Justin, Trenton, Austin, Riley, Mikayla and Nicola; 6 great grandchildren, Addy, Ethan, Kinley, Larry, Henry and Margaret. In death he will join his two brothers, Frank and Don and a nephew David.

Leslie could talk for hours and closed his eyes when he laughed. He and his wife enjoyed taking Sunday drives around the state of Iowa and listening to Polka hour on RFD. They attended South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.
