John Allen Pippert was born on the family farm, where he lived his entire life, in Dysart, on June 24, 1951, the son of Walter and Cinderella (Sell) Pippert.
John married Donna Hutson on July 27, 1969, to which they had three children. Later, he married Tina Papadakes on June 24, 1999, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; she preceded him in death on June 6, 2014.
John farmed his family farm, owned his own trucking company and was a Tama County Reserve Deputy. He enjoyed attending the races in Vinton and Amish auctions, he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and was very proud of them. John collected John Deere tractors and liked going to Meskwaki Casino. He had a great sense of humor and a one-of-a-kind personality. Most importantly, John took pride in a hard days work.
John passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at UnityPointHealth Allen Memorial, at the age of 74. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tina and two brothers, Marv and Loren Pippert. John is survived by his son, Brian Pippert of Dysart; two daughters, Melissa (Chris) Potter of Dysart and Amanda (Andy) Hoyer of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Jade (Loren), Madison, Molly and Alex Potter; three brothers, Ray (Dorothy), Paul and Steve (Karen) Pippert all of Dysart and a sister, Joyce (Louie) Lyons of Sun City, Arizona.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation: Monday, September 8, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Overton Funeral Home in Dysart, 707 Clark St.
Service: Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 10:00 am, at the Zion Lutheran Church, 800 S. Main St., Dysart.
Burial: Following services at the Dysart Cemetery.
